Teeth whitening is a safe procedure that can lighten the colour of your teeth by using a safe dental bleaching agent. It is one of the simplest non-invasive ways used to enhance your smile.
Patients often think that teeth whitening is a procedure to remove stains caused by food and drinks but this is not correct and it is important to understand the difference. Stains on your teeth caused by drinking tea or coffee or from smoking can be removed by a dentist or hygienist with a simple cleaning and polishing treatment. However, teeth whitening actually makes your teeth whiter in colour.
Please bear in mind that individual results may vary and are based on your initial tooth colour, a bit like how after sunbathing, the degree of tanning can vary from person to person.
There are two ways in which you can whiten your teeth, please read below…
HOME TEETH WHITENING
This process is gentle, safe and gives gradual natural results. It involves taking moulds/impressions of your teeth in order for us to make you customized whitening trays that fit your teeth accurately. We also provide you with professional whitening gel along with instructions on how to whiten your teeth appropriately at home. If it is the first time for you to whiten your teeth, you will need to do this everyday for an average of 2 weeks to see a nice result.
IN-OFFICE TEETH WHITENING
If you are in a rush or have an important event to attend but are short of time, then in-office teeth whitening could be a better option for you. This process involves visiting the clinic for one hour and 30 minutes where we will whiten your teeth for you whilst you watch something of your choice on our wall mounted television screen. You will leave the clinic with your teeth whiter, and you will also receive a set of customized home whitening trays which you will need for future maintenance.
